📋 Description

• Join Marigold Marketing Pty Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer in a fully remote, high‑impact environment that values work‑life balance and continuous learning.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable software solutions across our core platforms—Emma, Campaign Monitor, and Vuture—leveraging strong Object‑Oriented Programming principles.
• Own end‑to‑end ownership of critical messaging and event infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability through Kafka and complementary message bus technologies.
• Drive architectural modernization, guiding the transition of legacy systems to modern, maintainable designs while integrating AI‑assisted tooling responsibly.
• Shape the technical direction of the team by facilitating architectural discussions, coaching peers, and championing best practices in system design and cloud architecture.
• Collaborate closely with AWS services (Fargate, Bedrock, EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, Elasticsearch, etc.) to build resilient, cloud‑native solutions.
• Implement DevOps excellence: containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, infrastructure as code via Terraform, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Apply deep SQL and NoSQL expertise to support scalable data solutions, ensuring data integrity and performance across distributed systems.
• Lead and participate in rotational on‑call duties, driving reliability improvements, proactive monitoring, and incident response.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and documentation by partnering with cross‑disciplinary teams, shaping roadmaps, and maintaining design records that endure.
• Mentor and motivate fellow engineers, building a collaborative, inquisitive team culture that thrives on shared knowledge and continuous improvement.
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategy for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication in both written and verbal formats.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of software development experience with proven OOP commercial expertise in Java and at least one additional language (C# preferred).
• Deep experience with Kafka or similar message bus systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong background in system design, scalable architecture, and cloud technologies, with AWS preferred.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable with both SQL and NoSQL databases, applying best practices for performance and scalability.
• Daily experience with AI‑augmented coding and review tools, with a track record of critically evaluating their output.
