- • Senior Software Engineer 2 at Modernizing Medicine, Inc. (ModMed) is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex engineering systems that power an AI-enabled, specialty-specific cloud platform used by healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes and practice efficiency. This role directly contributes to ModMed’s mission of modernizing medicine through technology built by clinicians who code, ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving healthcare demands.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and developing robust, fault-tolerant distributed systems using C#/.NET and microservices architecture; providing technical mentorship and setting engineering standards for junior team members; collaborating with product, clinical, and operations stakeholders to translate complex healthcare requirements into actionable technical specifications; ensuring deliverables meet both functional and non-functional criteria through rigorous testing and code reviews; driving continuous improvement by leading design, code, and operational reviews; and contributing to the technical roadmap to align engineering efforts with business goals in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- • 10+ years of professional software development experience
- • Deep expertise in C#/.NET development
- • Strong understanding of microservices and REST API design principles
- • Proven experience with SaaS development and public cloud services, preferably AWS
- • Experience writing unit and API tests
- • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and operate modern cloud-native, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functional teams
- • Strategic thinking with proven ability to align technology solutions with business objectives
