- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications that power Canary’s hospitality-specific AI platform used by 20,000+ hoteliers across 100+ countries.
- • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring product decisions are informed by engineering expertise and customer impact.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of features from concept to deployment, including architecture design, implementation, testing, monitoring, and iteration based on user feedback.
- • Build and operate services that run at large scale with high reliability, applying discipline and passion for operational excellence, including observability, alerting, and incident response.
- • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across frontend and backend systems, adhering to best practices in software engineering and code review standards.
- • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to evolving the technical roadmap to support rapid growth and evolving customer needs.
- • Work in a cross-functional, remote-first environment with teams across LATAM and beyond, coordinating closely with product, design, and customer success to deliver seamless user experiences.
- • Proactively identify technical debt and propose sustainable solutions to improve system performance, scalability, and developer velocity.
- • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in hospitality tech and SaaS platforms, evaluating their applicability to Canary’s product ecosystem.
- • Ensure all software solutions prioritize customer experience, directly impacting how hoteliers interact with and benefit from Canary’s platform.
- • Contribute to incident post-mortems and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve system resilience.
- • Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure technical implementations align with usability goals defined by product and customer feedback.
- • Maintain a strong focus on security, data privacy, and compliance in all aspects of development, given the sensitive nature of hospitality guest data.
- • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure team alignment and continuous improvement.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building full-stack applications
- • Proven track record of designing and operating scalable, high-availability services in production
- • Strong proficiency in modern backend and frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, or similar)
- • Experience working in a remote, cross-functional team environment
- • Deep understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive technical decisions with limited direction
