📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Loveholidays.com Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to become the most loved online travel agency in Europe by building and maintaining high-scale, high-performance systems that power holiday search, booking, pricing, and customer experience.
• Your work will directly impact millions of customers by enabling seamless, personalized travel experiences through robust supplier integrations, real-time pricing engines, AI-driven recommendations, and modern web and mobile platforms.
• Day to day, you will adopt and champion Loveholidays’ engineering principles, build and operate scalable cloud-based services, collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams, implement well-tested and maintainable solutions, and design system architectures aligned with both immediate business needs and long-term strategic goals.
• You will focus on observability, reliability, and iterative delivery, ensuring systems are not only performant but also operable and observable in production, while mentoring peers and continuously improving code quality and deployment practices.
• You will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and domain-driven design, working with modern languages like TypeScript, Java, Golang, Rust, and Python, while gaining hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Terraform, and GCP — all within a culture that values technical excellence, blameless postmortems, and continuous improvement.
• This role offers the opportunity to grow into a technical leader by owning end-to-end application lifecycles, influencing architectural decisions, and contributing to open source projects that reflect Loveholidays’ commitment to innovation and transparency in engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
• Expertise in building and maintaining scalable web services using REST, HTTP, and cloud-native technologies
• Deep experience with at least one of the core languages: TypeScript, Java, Golang, Rust, or Python
• Proven ability to design, implement, and monitor reliable, observable systems in production environments
• Experience with containers, orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and monitoring tools (Prometheus)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable
