• • Senior Software Engineer at Repurpose Global Inc. plays a critical role in building and scaling the technology platform that drives the company’s mission to eliminate plastic waste and ensure global packaging compliance. This position is central to developing robust, scalable software solutions that empower consumer brands to measure, manage, and reduce their environmental impact through verified plastic recovery and regulatory adherence.
• • The engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs that support the core functionality of the Packaging Sustainability & Compliance platform, including data ingestion from global waste recovery projects, real-time tracking of plastic recovery metrics, and automated compliance reporting across 45+ international packaging regulations.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable, and efficient code primarily in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate sustainability and compliance requirements into technical specifications, and participating in agile development cycles to deliver features that enhance platform usability and data accuracy.
• • The role involves optimizing database performance and data pipelines to handle large volumes of environmental and regulatory data, ensuring data integrity and security in alignment with global privacy and compliance standards, and implementing monitoring and logging solutions to maintain system reliability and uptime.
• • The engineer will contribute to architectural decisions for cloud-based infrastructure (primarily AWS), advocate for best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and code quality, and mentor junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the team.
• • Active participation in code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing sessions is expected, along with staying current on emerging technologies that could improve the platform’s ability to scale impact and support new regulatory frameworks.
