Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect the core of a green-field, cloud-native hospital information system that will replace legacy EHRs and serve as the single source of truth for every clinician, patient, and administrator in a health system.
- • Own end-to-end feature delivery—from white-boarding new data models in Phoenix/Elixir to shipping zero-downtime releases that keep Emergency Departments and ICUs running 24/7.
- • Design a next-generation access-control layer that enforces HIPAA-grade privacy while still enabling real-time analytics for population health and AI-driven clinical decision support.
- • Build resilient integrations with ventilators, bedside monitors, imaging PACS, lab analyzers, and supply-chain robots; guarantee sub-second latency and 99.99 % uptime in environments where every millisecond can affect patient outcomes.
- • Rethink decades-old clinical workflows: turn 15-click medication-administration flows into one-tap interactions, eliminate duplicate data entry, and surface predictive insights exactly when and where clinicians need them.
- • Contribute to Lunar’s internal libraries and open-source Elixir tooling; write clean, well-tested code that other engineers will read like prose and extend fearlessly.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, clinicians, and designers in fast design sprints; validate prototypes in live hospital environments and iterate within hours, not quarters.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and lunch-and-learn sessions; help shape a culture where curiosity and psychological safety are non-negotiable.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation that is blameless, well-instrumented, and continuously improved; treat every incident as an opportunity to harden the platform and share knowledge.
- • Influence technical strategy at the company level: evaluate new data stores, messaging systems, and deployment paradigms; make build-vs-buy decisions that balance speed, cost, and long-term maintainability.
- • Champion security-first development—embed encryption, audit logging, and least-privilege patterns into every pull request so that patient trust is never an afterthought.
- • Measure what matters: instrument features with real-time telemetry, run A/B tests in production, and use data to prove that your code improves both clinician satisfaction and patient safety.
- • Travel occasionally (10 %) to partner hospitals to observe workflows firsthand, interview end-users, and ensure the software you ship solves real-world pain points.
- • Contribute to Lunar’s inclusive culture by leading affinity groups, writing blog posts, or speaking at meetups—whatever amplifies diverse voices and attracts the next generation of mission-driven engineers.
