- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Agent Platform team at Magical, you will build the foundational systems that power AI agents in healthcare, enabling reliable automation of complex workflows like claims processing and prior authorizations.
- • You will design and build core platform systems for agent orchestration, memory, and state management, develop infrastructure for integrating and evaluating AI models at scale, and create APIs that allow teams to rapidly deploy new agent capabilities.
- • You will own critical backend services from architecture through deployment and monitoring, working directly with the founding team to shape the architecture of a production-grade agentic automation platform.
- • Magical is a well-funded startup backed by Greylock, Coatue, and Lightspeed with $41M raised, focused on transforming healthcare administration through AI agents that work in production, offering the opportunity to build impactful systems in a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
- • This hybrid role requires 2 days per week in the Toronto office and offers significant ownership, technical challenge, and the chance to grow as a leader in multi-agent systems and platform engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of backend engineering experience with strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node
- • Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, and asynchronous architectures
- • Experience building platform or infrastructure systems at scale
- • Background in integrating LLMs or AI models into production backend systems
- • Track record of building foundational systems that enabled teams to move faster
