- • Design and build agent-driven experiences for financial audit workflows, determining where AI autonomy is appropriate and where human auditor oversight is required.
- • Own complex, end-to-end workstreams tied to onboarding Fieldguide’s largest customers, ensuring seamless integration and adoption of the platform.
- • Ship production code daily, with increasing reliance on AI coding tools like Claude Code to accelerate development and improve quality.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, and financial audit subject matter experts to solve challenging domain-specific problems in audit and compliance.
- • Help shape the team’s technical direction, including the architecture of agentic systems, AI tooling integration, and engineering best practices.
- • Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to the interview process as the engineering team scales.
- • Work across the full stack to deliver features—from frontend UIs in React to backend services in Node.js, GraphQL APIs, and PostgreSQL data modeling.
- • Rapidly internalize complex financial audit concepts without prior domain expertise, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- • Operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment where initiative and ownership are expected, and processes are still being defined.
- • Contribute to product strategy by identifying opportunities to eliminate up to 50% of manual work for audit practitioners through automation and AI.
- • Build and refine systems that support cybersecurity, privacy, and ESG audit workflows, enabling trust between businesses through automated assurance.
- • Participate in shaping a culture of inclusivity, humility, and mutual growth, aligning with Fieldguide’s core values of Fearless, Fast, Lovable, Owners, Win-win, and Inclusive.
- • Leverage experience with document processing or infrastructure work to enhance the platform’s ability to handle audit evidence and compliance artifacts.
- • Drive technical decisions with a bias toward action, prioritizing shipping high-impact features over perfection in early stages.
- • Maintain a hands-on engineering role with no managerial duties; focus remains on writing code and solving technical problems.

- • Strong full-stack engineering skills with daily hands-on coding experience
- • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments with high ownership expectations
- • Proven experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in professional workflows
- • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex domain knowledge (e.g., financial audit, compliance)
- • Collaborative mindset with experience working closely with product, design, and domain experts
- • Experience leading technical projects and driving decisions with a bias toward action
