📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer (Backend) role focused on developing high-performance, scalable catalog services that support millions of Walmart customers and enhance seller/supplier experiences.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and building Java-based backend systems using Spring Boot and reactive frameworks, troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to GenAI-driven innovations in catalog platform.
• Join Walmart’s Catalog Spec Engineering team within Walmart Global Tech, a fast-moving, entrepreneurial group building next-gen platforms for the world’s largest retailer, using Java, microservices, Kafka, Solr, and cloud technologies.
• Opportunity to deepen expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native development, AI/ML integration, and technical leadership while impacting retail technology at scale.

🎯 Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Expert-level knowledge of Java and experience building Java-based backend systems
• Extensive experience with microservices, Spring Boot, and reactive frameworks like Spring WebFlux
• Experience with internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g., Solr, Kafka, Mem Cache)
• Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and networking
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, CI/CD tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins), and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, Cassandra)
