• Join Foodsmart, a leading telenutrition and foodcare solution, as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping and advancing the core systems that drive our innovative platform, empowering millions of members to make healthier food choices and achieve lasting health outcomes.
• You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our backend services and data infrastructure. This includes designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure solutions that form the backbone of Foodsmart's operations.
• Your contributions will directly impact the personalized nutrition journeys of our 2.2 million members, ensuring they receive tailored guidance and support. You will also build and enhance the critical tools utilized daily by our dedicated network of Registered Dietitians, enabling them to provide exceptional care.
• While your primary focus will be on backend systems, APIs, and data, you will also engage with frontend development as needed. This cross-functional involvement is crucial for ensuring seamless end-to-end quality and delivering strong, reliable product functionality that delights our users.
• You will play a key role in architecting and implementing solutions that handle complex data models, manage user interactions, and integrate with various third-party services, including retail partners and health plan systems.

• You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements and user needs into elegant, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.

• Design and develop robust APIs that enable seamless communication between our frontend applications, backend services, and external partners.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and storage solutions to support analytics, reporting, and the delivery of personalized content and recommendations.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of our platform to accommodate a growing user base and increasing data volumes.
• Implement and maintain security best practices to protect sensitive member data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making, helping to shape the future of Foodsmart's technology stack.
• Mentor junior engineers and share your expertise to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented team environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform, ensuring minimal disruption to our members and partners.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application to enhance Foodsmart's platform and services.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a strong emphasis on backend development, including designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs and services.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Ruby) and associated frameworks.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
