📋 Description

• • Architect and own the next-generation backend services that power Piper, the AI SDR agent trusted by Asana, Box, and Grubhub to generate millions in pipeline. You will design fault-tolerant, horizontally-scalable systems that ingest, normalize, and serve real-time visitor data at web scale.
• • Drive the strategic integration of large language models and embedding pipelines into Qualified’s core product. You will decide when to fine-tune, when to prompt-engineer, and how to orchestrate retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows that deliver sub-second, context-rich conversations to every website visitor.
• • Build and evolve robust data models in PostgreSQL that unify CRM, intent, chat, and email signals. You will optimize indexing strategies, implement vector stores, and craft ETL pipelines that feed both offline model training and online inference with millisecond latency.
• • Champion engineering excellence by instituting rigorous test coverage, continuous deployment, and observability standards. You will lead blameless post-mortems, set SLOs, and ensure 99.9 % uptime for services that operate 24/7 across global traffic spikes.
• • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, and front-end engineers to translate customer pain points into elegant backend solutions. You will run rapid experiments, instrument feature flags, and iterate quickly to prove ROI for every new AI capability.
• • Mentor a growing team of backend and ML engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and career development plans. You will codify best practices in Ruby, Python, and Go, and help recruit the next wave of talent as Qualified scales beyond Series C.
• • Influence company-level technical strategy by presenting architectural proposals to the executive team. You will balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability, ensuring our infrastructure can support 10× growth without rewrites.
• • Stay on the cutting edge of AI research and cloud-native technologies. You will evaluate new LLM providers, experiment with emerging vector databases, and bring proven innovations back to the team to keep Qualified ahead of fierce competition.
