• • As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend on the Money Movement team at Coinbase, you will be at the forefront of building the foundational infrastructure that powers the future of global finance. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining the core systems responsible for stablecoin-based payments, enabling fast, secure, and scalable value transfers across borders and platforms. You will play a critical part in shaping how value moves within the Coinbase ecosystem and extends to external partners and businesses.
• • Your primary responsibility will involve the end-to-end design, development, and operation of robust backend systems and infrastructure. This includes architecting solutions for stablecoin pay-ins, payouts, deposits, and withdrawals, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• • You will serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for key projects, taking ownership from initial design and architecture through to production deployment and ongoing maintenance. This DRI role demands a high degree of accountability and the ability to drive complex initiatives to successful completion.
• • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, Infrastructure Engineers, and Compliance Officers, to deliver comprehensive and scalable financial solutions. This includes close partnership with other Coinbase teams, such as the Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) Payments API, Onramp APIs, and CoinBiz, to seamlessly integrate stablecoin functionality into our core products.
• • A significant aspect of your work will be building and refining internal and external APIs. These APIs will empower businesses and partners to easily leverage stablecoin-powered money movement capabilities, fostering broader adoption of crypto-native financial services.
• • You will be instrumental in identifying and proactively addressing performance bottlenecks, scalability limitations, and reliability challenges across our distributed systems. This requires a deep understanding of system architecture and a commitment to continuous improvement.
