• • As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing core systems for Coinbase Institutional, specifically focusing on the Markets Derivatives team.
• • This role involves tackling unique, large-scale, and highly complex technical challenges at the intersection of web-scale applications and blockchain technology.
• • You will be responsible for building the next generation of systems that make cryptocurrency accessible worldwide, managing real-time applications with high-frequency, low-latency updates.
• • Contribute to the development and maintenance of secure, dockerized cloud infrastructure.
• • The Markets Derivatives team is at the forefront of building and managing the essential systems that power both Coinbase's US Derivatives and International Exchanges.
• • Your work will directly impact critical components such as Matching Engines, Order Management Systems, FIX and REST gateways, and Market Data gateways.
• • You will also contribute to a diverse set of products and services designed for a wide range of customer segments within the institutional market.
• • Collaborate closely with a talented and growing engineering team to address some of the most demanding scale and performance challenges within the company.
• • Play a key role in delivering an ambitious product roadmap aimed at solidifying Coinbase's position as the leading and most trusted crypto platform globally.
• • Design, build, and enhance robust backend services using primary technologies including Java, Golang, and RDS Postgres, ensuring they meet critical product and business needs.
• • Architect and implement scalable, high-volume, and low-latency systems to solve novel problems, leveraging modern cloud technologies and adhering to industry best practices.
• • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with other engineers, designers, and product managers to translate the product and technical vision into a tangible, actionable roadmap each quarter.
• • Produce high-quality, well-tested code that consistently meets the needs of our customers and upholds our engineering standards.
• • Actively maintain production services and database infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
• • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the backend engineering function, contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
• • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate the team's capabilities.
• • Understand and contribute to the operational aspects of the services you build, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• • Help shape the future of financial infrastructure by working on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
