• • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Merchant Data Platform team at Affirm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our backend infrastructure, specifically focusing on merchant data and identity across all customer touchpoints.
• • This is a critical, checkout-facing platform that handles millions of requests daily, supports the seamless onboarding of new merchants, and operates under stringent availability and latency Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• • You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated data pipelines that enrich our datasets, crucial for accurate merchant identification, robust risk analysis, and effective fraud detection.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to owning and delivering quarterly team goals, providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers, and guiding them through complex, open-ended problems.
• • You will actively participate in the entire product development lifecycle, collaborating closely with Product Management, Design, and Analytics teams.
• • This collaboration involves contributing to ideation sessions, clearly articulating technical constraints, and making informed decisions that carefully balance risks and trade-offs to ensure optimal outcomes.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to proactively identify and champion solutions for project, process, technology, or business challenges, driving them to resolution.
• • You will be responsible for detailed project definition, architectural design, securing cross-functional alignment, accurate estimation, and the subsequent breakdown, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance of software components.
• • Ensuring the operational health and availability of your team's systems is paramount. This includes creating and meticulously monitoring key performance metrics, escalating issues as needed, and actively participating in "keep the lights on" efforts and on-call rotations.
