Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Eigen Labs is at the forefront of building the infrastructure for a more trustworthy internet, fundamentally changing how digital interactions are perceived and secured. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to join our innovative Research and Development (RnD) team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of verifiable computing, enabling applications with mathematical trust guarantees rather than relying on implicit trust assumptions. If you are passionate about solving complex, ambiguous problems and have a knack for driving innovation from concept to production, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact.
- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the RnD team, you will be instrumental in tackling cutting-edge challenges within the realm of verifiable computing. Your responsibilities will span both deep research into emerging technologies and hands-on development of our core product. You will work within a small, agile team where high agency and proactive problem-solving are paramount. Collaboration will be key, as you'll work closely with product managers, fellow engineers, and external partners to navigate and resolve some of the most intricate technical hurdles in the industry.
- • A significant focus of this role will be leading research into confidential computing technologies, with a particular emphasis on solutions like Intel TDX (Trust Domain Extensions). You will be expected to develop a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of their architecture, inherent capabilities, and limitations. This deep knowledge will then be applied to the design and implementation of robust, production-grade systems that effectively leverage these advanced technologies. Your work will bridge the gap between secure hardware enclaves and the decentralized trust mechanisms provided by blockchain technology, creating a new paradigm for offchain computation.
- • You will architect, implement, and scale secure, high-performance infrastructure that pushes the boundaries of what is currently possible in verifiable compute. This involves taking concepts from initial prototype stages through to full production deployment, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability at every step. The goal is to enable developers to build applications with unparalleled trust guarantees, utilizing familiar cloud tools and programming environments without the need to adopt specialized blockchain languages or compromise on functionality due to smart contract limitations.
- • The impact of your work extends beyond technical innovation. By making digital services verifiable, EigenCloud unlocks transformative applications across various domains. Imagine AI systems with economic accountability for their outputs, social platforms with verifiable, manipulation-resistant algorithms, prediction markets that can reliably resolve on any real-world event, and financial services offering unprecedented cryptographic transparency. Essentially, any application where trust and correctness are critical will benefit from the foundation you help build.
- • This role is ideal for a builder who thrives on tackling hard problems and is driven to create technology that makes the digital world fundamentally more reliable and trustworthy. You will be at the forefront of moving beyond crypto's traditional focus on digital money to establishing a new standard for trust in all digital interactions. With Eigen Labs' rapidly growing developer ecosystem and strong backing from top-tier investors, this is a unique moment to join a company poised to bring verifiable computing into the mainstream.
- • Your day-to-day will involve a blend of deep technical investigation, system design, coding, and collaboration. You'll be exploring the intricacies of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), understanding their security models, and devising innovative ways to integrate them into our platform. This includes not only developing new features but also ensuring the robustness and scalability of existing infrastructure, contributing to the overall technical roadmap, and mentoring other engineers. The opportunity to work on foundational technology that has the potential to redefine online trust is immense.
- • We are looking for individuals who are not just engineers, but true innovators. You will have the autonomy to explore new ideas, experiment with novel approaches, and contribute to the intellectual property of Eigen Labs. This role offers a unique chance to grow your expertise in a rapidly evolving field, working alongside some of the brightest minds in cryptography, distributed systems, and confidential computing. Your contributions will directly influence the direction of our products and the broader ecosystem of verifiable computing.
