- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Droptable team at CloudZero, you will own the architecture at the heart of the product, designing and optimizing the backend data processing, storage, and query infrastructure that powers the platform’s ability to ingest, organize, and analyze cloud cost data at scale. This role is critical to enabling CloudZero’s mission of turning complex cloud billing data into actionable financial intelligence for customers.
- • You will design and optimize scalable data models, queries, and storage solutions to improve performance and efficiency across the platform, ensuring the system can handle growing data volumes and increasingly complex analytical workloads from enterprise customers.
- • You will maintain and enhance a custom-built query engine, focusing on flexibility and peak performance as customer needs evolve, directly impacting the speed and accuracy of cost insights delivered to users.
- • You will build for scale by architecting pipelines and systems that support onboarding of larger customers with more complex datasets, enabling CloudZero to serve fast-growing, data-intensive organizations.
- • You will collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to develop data-driven features that solve real customer problems, translating technical capabilities into business value through clear communication and cross-functional alignment.
- • You will continuously improve engineering processes and data infrastructure to enable rapid development and iteration, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the platform team.
- • You will work on actual platform engineering at real scale — not maintenance or backlog triage — tackling hard data problems where your work has direct, measurable impact on customer outcomes and product differentiation.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with cloud-based databases and data storage solutions such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery
- • Proficiency in Python
- • Hands-on experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines and frameworks
- • Deep understanding of data modeling principles and data warehouse design for analytics
- • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in large-scale data environments
- • Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
