📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer role on the Core Experiences Team at Speechify, building foundational services and SDKs that power the product experience across platforms, critical for enhancing user experience through reliable APIs and simple systems.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing, and shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
• Speechify is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing audio information consumption, ranked #1 in its category with exponential growth, committed to making learning easier and accessible for millions, including people with learning differences.
• The role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, think strategically, design clear APIs, and directly impact user experience while contributing to a mission-driven product used by millions worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• Systems thinking with end-to-end design mindset and belief in simplicity
• Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and decide what can ship now vs. needs more time
• Strong focus and ability to balance heads-down work with collaboration in a high-growth remote startup environment
• Experience collaborating effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers
• Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java experience acceptable)
• Preferred: Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
