- • Senior Software Engineer role on the Core Experiences Team at Speechify, building foundational services and SDKs that power the product experience across platforms, critical for enhancing user experience through reliable APIs and simple systems.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product teams to scope projects and reduce scope for faster feedback, optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing via efficient abstractions and improved algorithms, and shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
- • Speechify is a fast-growing startup that converts text to speech, enabling users to listen to web articles, cloud documents, and books; the company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth, with a mission to make learning easier, deeper, and faster through audio information.

- • Systems thinking with end-to-end design orientation and belief in simplicity
- • Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and decide what to ship now vs. what needs more time
- • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but Kotlin Multiplatform preferred)
- • Prior experience with GCP is a plus
- • Strong collaboration skills to work with designers, marketers, and product managers
- • Focus and ability to balance engagement with heads-down work in a high-growth, remote startup environment
