- • Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across platforms using the cross-platform SDK.
- • Design and implement more efficient abstractions and algorithms to optimize existing functionality, including faster loading times and more intelligent parsing of content.
- • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.
- • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to build and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s core user experience across all platforms.
- • Prioritize simplicity and reliability in API and system design to directly enhance user experience.
- • Apply systems thinking to solve problems with end-to-end design, ensuring that optimizations improve the entire stack, not just isolated components.
- • Work quickly to generate ideas, evaluate options, and determine which features can ship immediately versus those requiring further refinement.
- • Maintain focus in a high-growth, remote startup environment by knowing when to engage collaboratively and when to work independently.
- • Collaborate effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers to inspire, negotiate, and align on technical solutions.
- • Contribute to a product that transforms how people access information, particularly supporting users with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADD, low vision, concussions, and autism.
- • Operate in a fast-growing sector at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, helping shape the future of audio-based information consumption.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Kotlin, with experience in Kotlin Multiplatform preferred
- • Experience building and maintaining cross-platform SDKs
- • Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end solutions
- • Proven ability to ship high-quality code quickly in a fast-paced startup environment
- • Experience with cloud functions and lightweight backend services
- • Excellent collaboration skills working with product, design, and marketing teams
