📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer role focused on building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms, directly enhancing user interaction with audio information.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product teams to scope projects, optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing, and shipping cloud functions and lightweight backend services using Kotlin.
• Part of the Core Experiences Team at Speechify, a fast-growing company revolutionizing how people consume information through audio, with a mission to make learning easier, deeper, and faster for millions.
• Opportunity to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems at the intersection of product and infrastructure, with direct impact on user experience and exposure to cutting-edge AI and audio technology.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong systems thinking with an emphasis on end-to-end design and valuing simplicity in complex systems.
• Proven ability to work quickly, generate ideas efficiently, and make pragmatic decisions about what to ship now versus what needs more time.
• Demonstrated focus and adaptability in a high-growth, remote startup environment, knowing when to engage collaboratively and when to work heads-down.
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including designers, marketers, and product managers.
• Proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable); prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
