- • Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across platforms using Speechify’s cross-platform SDK.
- • Optimize existing functionality to improve performance, including faster loading times and more intelligent parsing, by designing efficient abstractions and enhancing algorithms.
- • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.
- • Design and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s core product experience across all platforms.
- • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to deliver clear, reliable APIs that directly enhance user experience.
- • Apply systems thinking to solve problems with end-to-end design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability in architecture.
- • Work quickly to generate ideas, evaluate options, and determine what can ship immediately versus what requires further development.
- • Maintain focus in a high-growth, remote startup environment by knowing when to engage collaboratively and when to work independently.
- • Collaborate effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers through inspiration, negotiation, and constructive dialogue.
- • Contribute to a product that transforms how people with learning differences—such as dyslexia, ADD, low vision, concussions, and autism—access information.
- • Build and improve technology at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, in one of the fastest-growing sectors of tech.
- • Operate within a hands-off management structure that empowers autonomy and deep focus to produce high-quality work.
- • Help shape the future of a fast-growing company and its product roadmap through strategic contributions to core infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Kotlin, with experience in Kotlin Multiplatform preferred
- • Experience building and maintaining cross-platform SDKs
- • Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end solutions with simplicity as a priority
- • Proven ability to ship code quickly while balancing technical quality and product needs
- • Experience with cloud functions and lightweight backend services
- • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
