- • Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across platforms using Speechify’s cross-platform SDK.
- • Optimize existing functionality to improve performance metrics such as faster loading times and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and refining algorithms.
- • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.
- • Design and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s core product experience across all platforms.
- • Balance strategic system design with rapid iteration, identifying what can ship immediately versus what requires longer-term development.
- • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to ensure technical solutions directly enhance user experience.
- • Engage with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers to inspire collaboration, negotiate priorities, and align technical execution with product goals.
- • Maintain a focus on simplicity and reliability in API design and system architecture.
- • Operate effectively in a high-growth, remote startup environment by knowing when to engage collaboratively and when to work independently with deep focus.
- • Contribute to building a life-changing product used by millions, particularly supporting users with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADD, low vision, concussions, and autism.
- • Work in a fast-growing sector at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Kotlin, with experience in Kotlin Multiplatform preferred
- • Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end solutions with simplicity as a priority
- • Proven ability to ship code quickly while making strategic decisions about scope and timing
- • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, design, and marketing
