- • Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across platforms using Speechify’s cross-platform SDK.
- • Design and implement more efficient abstractions and algorithms to optimize existing functionality, including faster loading times and more intelligent parsing of content.
- • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.
- • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to build and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s core user experience across all platforms.
- • Prioritize simplicity and reliability in API and system design to directly enhance the end-user experience.
- • Apply systems thinking to solve problems with end-to-end design, balancing long-term architecture with immediate shipping needs.
- • Work quickly to generate ideas, evaluate options, and determine what can ship immediately versus what requires further refinement.
- • Maintain focus in a high-growth, remote startup environment by knowing when to engage collaboratively and when to work independently.
- • Collaborate effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers through inspiration, negotiation, and constructive dialogue.
- • Contribute to a product that transforms how people with learning differences—such as dyslexia, ADD, low vision, concussions, and autism—access information through audio.
- • Operate in a fast-growing sector at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, helping shape the future of accessible information consumption.
- • Work in a hands-off management environment that emphasizes autonomy, trust, and asynchronous collaboration to enable deep, focused work.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Kotlin, with experience in Kotlin Multiplatform preferred
- • Experience designing and shipping cloud functions, backend services, and jobs
- • Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end solutions with simplicity and reliability
- • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote startup environment
- • Experience collaborating with product, design, and marketing teams to balance technical and user needs
- • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
