📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer on Vanta’s Developer Experience team, you will shape the foundational tools and infrastructure that enable engineers across the company to build, test, and deploy software faster, safer, and more reliably—directly accelerating product delivery and system scalability.
• Your work will have compounding impact by reducing friction in development workflows, improving incident response through better tooling, and empowering engineers to focus on customer-facing innovation rather than operational toil.
• You will set strategic direction for critical developer infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment workflows, ensuring they scale with Vanta’s rapid growth while maintaining high reliability and performance.
• Day to day, you will design and build robust CI and build systems using modern tooling like GitHub Actions, optimize deployment pipelines for speed and safety, and lead efforts to harden rollback and hotfix mechanisms for production stability.
• You will develop and maintain scalable development environments and test infrastructure, leveraging AWS services such as Fargate and ECS, to support consistent and reproducible workflows across growing engineering teams.
• You will introduce and scale AI-powered developer tools—such as intelligent code assistants, automated test generators, and context-aware linting systems—to reduce cognitive load and improve code quality at scale.
• You will collaborate closely with product engineers to gather feedback, identify pain points, and co-create solutions that enhance usability, performance, and reliability of internal developer platforms.
• You will contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture by mentoring peers, advocating for best practices in tooling design, and helping establish standards that promote sustainability, clarity, and velocity in software delivery.
• You will gain deep expertise in platform engineering, DevEx strategy, and scalable system design while working with modern technologies including TypeScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS, positioning you as a leader in internal tooling and developer productivity.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in technical leadership roles on Developer Experience (DevEx), platform, or infrastructure teams, with a track record of building and scaling developer tooling in fast-growing environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with CI/CD systems, build tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), and automation workflows that improve reliability and speed of software delivery.
• Deep commitment to performance, reliability, and usability of tools used daily by engineers, with a product-minded approach to balancing trade-offs in internal tool development.
