- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Exposure team at Chainalysis, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the data infrastructure that powers blockchain investigation and compliance tools used by governments, financial institutions, and cryptocurrency businesses worldwide. Your work will directly contribute to detecting illicit activities such as terrorism financing, ransomware attacks, and fraud, helping to build trust and security in the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem.
- • You will design and implement cloud-native data ingestion and aggregation systems capable of processing gigabytes of blockchain data daily, develop and enhance both batch and streaming pipelines handling billions of records, and build scalable API services on AWS that support thousands of requests per second. Additionally, you will modernize the technology stack to enable 10x scalability, debug complex production issues across microservices, and collaborate closely with product and design teams to ship impactful features that detect market manipulation, behavioral patterns, and other high-risk activities.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in large-scale data systems, cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform), and real-time stream processing (Spark, Flink). You will gain hands-on experience with modern data lakehouse technologies (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta Lake) and contribute to open-source-friendly practices via GitHub Actions. Beyond technical growth, you will have opportunities to mentor junior engineers, lead cross-functional initiatives, and influence architectural decisions that shape the future of blockchain analytics at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-native microservices-based distributed systems on major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- • Strong backend engineering background with extensive hands-on experience in Java and/or Python, including object-oriented design and production-grade system development
- • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes), along with familiarity in building and operating scalable data pipelines using Spark, Flink, or similar technologies
