- • Serve as a Senior Software Engineer on the Flights team, owning the full lifecycle of features from problem identification with product and design teams through to deployment and impact measurement.
- • Architect and build scalable, reliable systems to manage the complex domain of flight bookings, which involve numerous suppliers, failure modes, and operational dependencies.
- • Lead the design and documentation of technical solutions for core platform initiatives including self-serve post-booking flows, booking error recovery, and airline inventory scaling.
- • Define and uphold engineering standards across the stack, including CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies (E2E/Cypress), coding practices, and performance budgets.
- • Design and implement sophisticated backend systems involving API versioning, caching strategies, and large-scale data migrations.
- • Establish and maintain observability and SRE practices by defining SLOs, leading incident responses, and conducting blameless post-mortems.
- • Ensure operational security through secrets hygiene, dependency risk management, and hardening of production environments.
- • Mentor junior engineers through direct coaching, code reviews, pairing sessions, and design doc feedback to elevate team-wide technical standards.
- • Influence product roadmap decisions by translating business goals into technical roadmaps and de-risking ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping.
- • Drive cross-functional alignment across multiple squads and engineering guilds to resolve technical blockers and coordinate multi-team deliverables.
- • Actively contribute to AI-augmented workflows by leveraging AI tools for feature specification, code generation, automated PR reviews, and agentic coding practices.
- • Use AI as an active collaborator in development, not just a prompt-based assistant, and demonstrate proficiency in custom agentic skill development.
- • Participate in cross-functional squads alongside product, design, and operations to deliver customer-centric solutions with real ownership.
- • Shape long-term technical vision for the Flights domain by proactively identifying technical debt, prioritizing investments, and ensuring systems remain evolvable.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-engineering stakeholders and drive consensus across organizational boundaries.
- • Work in-person at least three days per week from Perk’s Barcelona office, as the role requires physical presence to foster team connectivity and collaboration.
- • Submit resume and portfolio in English, as it is the official language of the office.

- • Proven experience architecting scalable, evolvable backend and frontend systems for high-complexity domains
- • Demonstrated leadership in defining and upholding engineering standards across CI/CD, testing, and code quality
- • Hands-on experience with observability, SRE practices, and incident management including SLO definition and blameless post-mortems
- • Strong proficiency in AI-augmented development workflows, including agentic coding and AI-powered code review tools
- • Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams
- • Ability to work in-person in Barcelona at least three days per week
