📋 Description

• Partner closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to design and build high-quality user experiences for both workers and businesses on the WorkWhile platform
• Lead frontend initiatives from early design through implementation, launch, and iterative improvement, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals
• Develop and maintain complex user-facing features using React and React Native with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability
• Shape and evolve frontend architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices as the product and team scale to support growing user demand
• Own features or product areas end-to-end, making technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability while delivering measurable user impact
• Collaborate consistently with backend engineers and designers to ensure seamless integration of frontend components with APIs and UI/UX specifications
• Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture by mentoring teammates, reviewing code, and raising the overall quality of frontend work
• Translate user feedback and product requirements into thoughtful, intuitive interfaces that improve engagement and usability across mobile and web platforms
• Ensure all frontend implementations meet accessibility standards and deliver responsive, inclusive experiences for a diverse user base
• Participate in technical planning, prioritization, and roadmap discussions to align frontend development with broader company objectives
• Support rapid iteration cycles by writing clean, testable code and advocating for automation, monitoring, and observability in frontend workflows
• Drive adoption of modern frontend tooling, libraries, and methodologies that enhance developer velocity and product reliability
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving worker outcomes, including same-day pay, telehealth access, and skills upskilling features
• Balance autonomy with teamwork, taking ownership of projects while actively engaging with peers to solve complex problems and ship high-impact features
• Maintain a user-centric mindset, prioritizing features that directly improve the lives of hourly workers and small business operators in the labor marketplace
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to foster continuous learning and improvement within the engineering team
• Actively contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and onboarding processes to sustain team growth and technical coherence

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience building frontend applications using JavaScript and React and/or React Native
• Strong product instincts and the ability to translate user needs into thoughtful UI and interaction design
• Experience owning features or product areas end-to-end, including technical decision-making
• Comfort collaborating across disciplines, especially with design and backend engineering
• Clear, thoughtful communication and a collaborative mindset
• Interest in mentoring others and raising the overall quality of frontend work
