📋 Description

• As a Senior Frontend Engineer on Kraken's Analysis and Experimentation team, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of how we understand and interact with our users. This pivotal role involves owning and advancing the frontend infrastructure that underpins our robust experimentation program. Your contributions will directly empower product and engineering teams to design, implement, and analyze high-impact experiments, ultimately driving revenue and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
• You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the frontend foundations for Kraken's experimentation platform. This includes ensuring reliable exposure logging, accurate metric collection, and the implementation of essential experiment guardrails directly within our user-facing applications. Your work will be critical in providing product teams with the tools and data necessary to iterate rapidly and confidently.
• A core aspect of this role involves close collaboration with Data Engineering and Analytics teams. You will work in tandem to guarantee that experimental data is not only collected accurately but also aligns seamlessly with our canonical data definitions. This partnership is crucial for supporting statistically sound analysis and ensuring the integrity of our insights.
• Proactive issue detection and resolution will be a key responsibility. You will implement sophisticated validation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to swiftly identify and address any anomalies or data quality issues within experiment and product event data. This ensures the continuous reliability and trustworthiness of the data we rely on.
• You will serve as a subject matter expert, documenting and evangelizing best practices for experimentation and analytics implementation. This involves creating clear, actionable guidance and resources for product and engineering teams, fostering a consistent and high-quality approach to data collection and analysis across all initiatives.
• Engaging directly with product teams to support their experiment design needs will be a significant part of your role. This includes advising on metric feasibility, understanding the tradeoffs involved in different instrumentation approaches, and recommending optimal implementation patterns to achieve desired outcomes.
• A continuous improvement mindset is essential. You will actively seek opportunities to enhance and simplify event data flows, aiming to reduce redundancy, improve transparency, and lower the long-term maintenance costs associated with our data infrastructure.
• Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, you will contribute to the strategic evolution of Kraken's experimentation frameworks. Your insights and technical expertise will help enable faster iteration cycles for product teams while rigorously preserving analytical integrity and scientific validity.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development with strong expertise in React.js, React Native, and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of frontend data instrumentation, event modeling, and client-side data flows.
• Proven experience supporting experimentation or A/B testing systems, including exposure tracking and metric instrumentation.
• Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve data quality issues across complex frontend applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs and data correctness clearly.
