- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Forms team at Samsara, you will help shape and scale the digital forms platform that enables customers to replace paper-based workflows with mobile-first, configurable forms, directly impacting safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across industries like transportation, manufacturing, and construction.
- • You will design and build end-to-end Forms features across web, mobile, backend services, and platform integrations; lead technical projects from discovery to rollout; improve scalability and reliability of the Forms platform; partner with Product and Design to turn customer needs into simple workflows; and mentor engineers while championing Samsara’s cultural principles.
- • The Forms team builds mission-critical tools that power frontline and back-office operations, enabling structured data collection, workflow automation, and real-time visibility for customers in safety, maintenance, and field operations. You’ll work across the full stack, including the Samsara dashboard, mobile experiences, backend services, and integrations with broader platform systems.
- • In this role, you will drive technical direction, break down ambiguous product problems, mentor other engineers, and deliver reliable systems that support mission-critical customer workflows, with meaningful influence over both product experience and technical foundation for future growth in a high-impact, hyper-growth environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong experience building production web applications and backend services
- • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, C#, or equivalent)
- • Ability to lead complex, ambiguous projects across multiple systems and stakeholders
- • Strong product judgment and a customer-focused approach to engineering tradeoffs
- • Experience designing APIs, data models, permissions, and scalable service boundaries
- • Comfort mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction without relying on authority
- • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional partners
