- • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features for Brigit’s consumer finance platform using React, React Native, and TypeScript on the frontend, and Java services on the backend hosted in Google Cloud.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of user-facing features including API design, database schema optimization, UI/UX implementation, testing, and deployment through a mature CI/CD pipeline.
- • Evolve and scale APIs that support critical user flows such as income verification, risk assessment, and payment processing handling millions of daily transactions.
- • Optimize relational database schemas and SQL queries to ensure high performance for over 1 million users, including migrations and analytical query development.
- • Integrate with third-party APIs to expand financial services capabilities and improve customer experience across mobile and web platforms.
- • Build and maintain internal tools that reduce customer service workload through automation, improving response times and operational efficiency.
- • Implement and enhance notification systems (SMS, email, push) to improve user engagement and financial awareness.
- • Automate visual testing and regression detection processes to ensure consistent UI quality across platforms.
- • Participate in A/B testing initiatives to optimize product features that directly impact business metrics and customer outcomes.
- • Contribute to the design and implementation of GraphQL APIs to support flexible data fetching across multiple client applications.
- • Collaborate on system architecture decisions to ensure scalability as the platform grows from 100k to 10 million users.
- • Propose and implement new technical approaches, design paradigms, or product features with high autonomy and direct influence on company direction.
- • Work within a small, nimble engineering team with minimal supervision, managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high code quality and reliability.
- • Participate in pair programming sessions focused on debugging and fixing faulty data structures in Java, demonstrating strong fundamentals in testing and problem-solving.
- • Complete a take-home React project (Blackjack game) to showcase your ability to build a real-world feature from concept to delivery with attention to structure, maintainability, and edge cases.
- • Engage in system design interviews to solve API-related business problems and discuss service architecture trade-offs in a distributed environment.
- • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives where experience and expertise allow.
- • Maintain a strong focus on user experience by incorporating interaction and motion design principles into product enhancements.
- • Ensure all code and systems comply with financial industry standards for security, reliability, and data integrity.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of industry experience as a software engineer
- • REST-based API development experience using Java
- • End-to-end UI/UX development experience with React or React Native
- • Experience with SQL databases including schema design, migrations, and analytical queries
- • Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
