• • As a Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) focused on AI Governance at Optro Inc., you will play a critical role in building and scaling the backend infrastructure that powers one of North America’s fastest-growing audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platforms, trusted by over 50% of the Fortune 500 including seven of the Fortune 10. Your work will directly contribute to helping enterprises manage risk, ensure compliance, and drive sustainable growth through secure, scalable technology—making your impact both technically significant and socially meaningful.
• • You will design, develop, and deploy robust backend systems using Python and modern frameworks like FastAPI, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security in a distributed containerized environment. This role combines deep technical execution with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into maintainable, production-ready software.
• • Day-to-day, you will: build and ship end-to-end backend features using Python; design and implement performant RESTful APIs with FastAPI; write efficient PostgreSQL queries and design scalable database schemas; containerize applications using Docker for consistent development and production environments; orchestrate and manage services within Kubernetes clusters, including scaling and monitoring; create clear technical documentation for API contracts and local development setups; mentor fellow engineers through guidance and code reviews to uphold engineering excellence; debug and optimize software in distributed container environments; collaborate closely with product managers to turn requirements into functional backend logic; and write well-designed, testable, and maintainable code following Python best practices and industry standards.
