📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services for a leading audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec SaaS platform using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs that serve complex enterprise applications with strict data integrity and security requirements.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, write efficient queries with joins and indexing, and ensure data consistency across distributed systems.
• Containerize applications using Docker for consistent local development and production deployment environments.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale backend services within Kubernetes environments using kubectl and manifest configurations to manage pods, services, and deployments.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability, maintainability, and adherence to Python best practices.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers to uphold code quality and architectural standards.
• Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver backend features end-to-end.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed, containerized environments, focusing on performance bottlenecks and system failures.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for API contracts, database schemas, and local development setups to enable team-wide onboarding and knowledge sharing.
• Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines related to Docker and Kubernetes to automate testing, builds, and deployments.
• Contribute to the evolution of the platform by identifying opportunities to improve system scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance the platform’s capabilities in audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec domains.

• Work remotely across the United States with flexibility in scheduling while maintaining alignment with team goals and delivery timelines.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing backend services for web-based applications
• Strong command of Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Extensive experience building and maintaining REST/JSON APIs
• Deep proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and complex querying
• Practical experience using Docker for containerization in development and production
• Experience interacting with Kubernetes (e.g., kubectl, pods, services)
