- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Design Systems & Accessibility (DSA) team at AuditBoard, you will be instrumental in shaping the foundational elements of our award-winning platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact every feature across AuditBoard by contributing to Luna, our internal design system, and advancing our commitment to accessibility. You will not merely maintain existing code but will architect, develop, and refine the components and patterns that define our user experience and ensure inclusivity for all users.
- • Your primary responsibility will be the expansion and maintenance of the Luna design system. This involves crafting high-quality, reusable component architectures that adhere to best practices in performance, maintainability, and accessibility. You will be deeply involved in the codebase, optimizing existing components for enhanced performance and architecting entirely new ones to meet the evolving needs of our product roadmap. This role demands a strategic approach to system design, ensuring consistency and scalability as the platform grows.
- • A significant aspect of this position is acting as a technical evangelist for Luna. You will guide and support product teams in adopting system-level patterns, fostering a culture of shared components and consistent design language. This consultative role requires excellent communication skills to help teams integrate Luna effectively, overcoming technical challenges and ensuring a seamless user experience across the entire AuditBoard application.
- • Beyond the design system, you will play a pivotal role in shaping AuditBoard's department-wide accessibility strategy. Moving beyond basic compliance, you will help innovate our approach to inclusive design and engineering. This includes refining and expanding our Accessibility (A11Y) program, identifying and implementing high-impact remediations across the platform, and establishing best practices that will guide our engineering organization for years to come.
- • The DSA team is a small, high-seniority group of three engineers, fostering an environment of rapid iteration, technical autonomy, and deep architectural collaboration. You will work closely with embedded designers and a dedicated Product Manager, operating at the critical intersection of product vision and platform engineering. Your mission will be to deeply understand the needs of our end-users while simultaneously empowering our internal Product Engineering (PED) teams with the tools, patterns, and accessibility standards they require to build at scale.
- • Key responsibilities include writing clear, well-defined platform documentation to facilitate self-service support and ensure technical clarity for other engineers. You will also consult and advise internal product teams on Luna adoption and accessibility best practices, acting as a subject matter expert.
- • You will be expected to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software bugs, often requiring you to delve into deep or unfamiliar product areas to diagnose and fix platform-level hurdles. This requires a systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to navigate intricate codebases.
- • Collaboration is central to this role. You will partner cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and PMs across the organization, even in unfamiliar areas of ownership. This involves deeply understanding their specific use cases and navigating time pressure and technical frustration with empathy and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- • Furthermore, you will leverage AI-driven tools and workflows to enhance development efficiency and drive higher-quality outcomes, staying at the forefront of modern development practices.
- • This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives on building scalable, accessible, and well-documented systems. You will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a rapidly growing, market-leading platform, contributing to both its technical excellence and its commitment to inclusivity. Your work will directly influence the development velocity and quality of features delivered to thousands of enterprise customers, solidifying AuditBoard's position as the premier audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platform.
