- • As a Senior Software Engineer I - Robotics & Automation at Dandy Technology, Inc., you will serve as the critical technical bridge between our global engineering team and the manufacturing operations on the ground in Singapore, directly enabling the development and scaling of advanced automation solutions that power Dandy’s mission to modernize the $200B dental industry through technology.
- • Your work will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our automated manufacturing systems, minimizing downtime and accelerating innovation in custom digital manufacturing for dental practices worldwide.
- • You will develop a deep understanding of Dandy’s internal CAD and automation tools, tracing how software outputs translate into physical manufacturing processes on the factory floor, enabling you to anticipate and prevent integration issues before they impact production.
- • You will act as the first responder to software or system-related failures in manufacturing, rapidly diagnosing root causes, coordinating containment efforts, and restoring operations with minimal disruption to production schedules and quality standards.
- • You will design, build, and maintain diagnostic and triage tooling—including logging frameworks, real-time monitoring dashboards, and automated alerting systems—to detect anomalies, isolate faults, and accelerate resolution across distributed automation stations.
- • You will lead local debugging and bring-up efforts for new production stations, working closely with hardware vendors, mechanical engineers, and cross-functional teams to validate system behavior, document failure modes, and establish repeatable commissioning procedures.
- • You will serve as the primary engineering point of contact for external automation development partners, translating technical requirements, aligning on interfaces, and ensuring seamless integration of third-party systems into Dandy’s manufacturing ecosystem.
- • You will contribute to backend development and internal tooling that supports automation initiatives, including process control APIs, data pipelines for machine performance tracking, and configuration management systems that enable scalable, repeatable manufacturing workflows.
- • You will operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, driving clarity through structured communication, detailed documentation, and proactive stakeholder alignment across time zones to ensure asynchronous collaboration remains effective and transparent.
- • You will champion process excellence by creating and maintaining clear, maintainable documentation—such as runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and system architecture notes—that empowers global teams to operate independently and reduces knowledge silos.

🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing, robotics, or automation environments
- • Strong backend programming proficiency in C++ and Python, with demonstrated ability to build reliable, production-grade systems
- • Prior hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, robotics platforms, or CAD/CAM workflows in a production setting
- • Familiarity with hardware/software integration, systems bring-up, and debugging of distributed real-time systems in industrial contexts
- • Experience developing diagnostic tooling, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting processes for complex electromechanical systems
- • Comfort working autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving, cross-functional teams with a bias for action and ownership
- • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical complexity into clear updates and action plans for diverse stakeholders
- • Strong process orientation with a proven track record of writing and maintaining clear, structured documentation to support asynchronous collaboration
