📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer in Infrastructure/Developer Tooling at Homebase Labs Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation that enables engineering teams to build, test, and deploy software at scale. Your work will directly impact developer velocity, system reliability, and the overall efficiency of Homebase’s AWS-based infrastructure, making you a force multiplier across the organization.
• Day to day, you will lead the design and evolution of infrastructure and developer tooling initiatives, own and deliver large-scale ambiguous technical problems from concept to rollout, architect and optimize AWS environments for reliability, scalability, cost-efficiency, and performance, set technical direction and best practices for DevEx and infrastructure, serve as an escalation point for complex production incidents, mentor junior engineers through hands-on collaboration, partner with product, platform, and security teams to align infrastructure with business goals, drive innovation via AI-powered observability and automation, and continuously improve system reliability and developer productivity using metrics and feedback loops.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevEx leadership, and technical strategy while gaining influence over architectural decisions across the organization. 🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Development, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields
• 3+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud platforms in production environments
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and modern CI/CD systems
• Experience with Ruby or willingness to learn, with Golang and/or Python experience as a plus
• Strong understanding of containerized systems and distributed architectures
• Demonstrated impact improving developer experience and internal tooling at scale
• Strong expertise in observability, reliability, and incident response practices
• Experience serving as a technical leader in on-call rotations and guiding incident resolution
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with junior team members
• AI fluency: ability to explore and leverage AI tools to improve developer workflows
