- • As a Senior Software Engineer (Java) at Prime Therapeutics, you will lead the design and implementation of resilient, scalable technology solutions that directly support the company’s mission to transform pharmacy care through purpose-driven innovation. Your work will ensure systems meet rigorous functional, non-functional, and operational readiness standards, enabling reliable delivery of healthcare services to millions.
- • Day to day, you will: lead the architectural design of Java/Kotlin-based systems to meet resiliency, stability, and performance requirements; oversee ongoing development, maintenance, and support of existing platforms; mentor and provide technical guidance to team members while influencing work direction and fostering collaboration; participate in staffing planning by identifying subject matter experts and contributing to performance evaluations; own end-to-end technology solutions including proactive monitoring, alerting, and roadmap communication; drive continuous improvement through innovation in cloud-native architectures and data streaming solutions; and ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and internal governance standards.
- • You will join a mission-focused IT team at Prime Therapeutics, a purpose-led Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) dedicated to connecting care beyond profits. The team operates with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability, leveraging modern cloud and streaming technologies to build sustainable, secure systems that support better health outcomes.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise Java ecosystems, cloud-native development on GCP, and real-time data streaming platforms like Kafka and PubSub. You will grow as a technical leader by mentoring peers, influencing architectural decisions, and gaining exposure to healthcare-specific challenges including HIPAA, PCI, and regulatory compliance—positioning you for advancement into senior technical or leadership roles within a stable, innovative healthcare technology organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience; High School Diploma or GED required
- • 5+ years of experience in application development or package software implementation
- • Proven ability to manage work direction, lead, influence, mentor, and provide feedback to team members
- • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- • Hands-on experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Framework (Boot, Data, Cloud Stream), SQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka or PubSub
- • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills; ability to translate abstract concepts into stable, supportable solutions
- • Demonstrated decisiveness, judgment, and drive for innovation and continuous improvement
