- • Senior Software Engineer role focused on building and enhancing Olo Pay’s Merchant Solutions, enabling restaurants to deliver personalized and profitable guest experiences through digital ordering, payment, and engagement tools.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining features for card-present and card-not-present transaction flows, reconciliation and reporting, payouts, pricing plans, and merchant account management within the Olo Pay product.
- • You will work on both greenfield initiatives and enhancements to existing systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support brand-specific needs and scale reliable payment infrastructure.
- • Part of the Pay engineering group within Olo’s Belfast-based hub, contributing to a long-term investment in Northern Ireland’s tech ecosystem while working fully remotely from anywhere in NI.
- • Opportunity to deepen expertise in payment systems, distributed systems, and SaaS platforms while impacting how restaurants operate and grow in a digital-first economy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in backend or full-stack development.
- • Experience building or maintaining payment processing systems, financial transaction flows, or related SaaS platforms.
- • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar, with familiarity in RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- • Strong understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), data modeling, and transactional integrity in high-volume systems.
- • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code with experience in automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices.
- • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in agile, remote-first teams.
