📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer (Newstore) role focused on owning and evolving a critical middleware integration between NewStore OMS/POS and Shopify, ensuring stability, scalability, and proactive feature delivery for high-impact client projects.
• Lead the audit and discovery of an existing NewStore OMS ↔ Shopify middleware, analyzing architecture, data flows, and failure modes to establish a foundation for improvement.
• Take full ownership of middleware maintenance, transitioning from reactive bug fixing to proactive development of enhancements that improve reliability and functionality.
• Develop, test, and deploy improvements to the OMS–Shopify integration layer, ensuring seamless data synchronization and system interoperability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues between NewStore OMS and Shopify, leveraging deep technical expertise to minimize downtime and client impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, delivery managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritize work, and align on technical direction.
• Provide technical guidance on platform integration decisions and evolving requirements, influencing architecture and implementation strategies.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of integration practices, fostering code quality and team knowledge sharing.
• Document integration logic, data flows, and system changes throughout the engagement to ensure transparency, maintainability, and knowledge transfer.
• Join a remote-first, world-class digital product studio with 180+ senior engineers and designers from top tech companies, working on projects that scale products from $0 to $200M in revenue.
• Contribute to high-visibility client engagements with recognizable brands such as Google, Shopify, Coinbase, and Hinge, delivering industry-leading technical solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience integrating NewStore OMS, with proven ability to work directly on production middleware systems.
• Senior-level experience owning and stabilizing complex production integrations under real-world constraints, including debugging and performance optimization.
• Strong API and integration fundamentals, including REST, webhooks, event-driven patterns, async processing, data consistency, and reconciliation workflows.
• Proven ability to perform technical audits and ramp quickly in partially documented or "black box" environments with minimal guidance.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in system design, data modeling, testing strategies, and code quality practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective async collaboration across time zones and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work with meaningful overlap in Eastern Time (ET/EST) hours to ensure real-time coordination with clients and team members.
