- • Senior Software Engineer role at Sequence, a fast-growing AI-powered revenue platform processing $1bn+ in annual invoice volume, where you’ll build systems that power billing for modern B2B companies and directly impact revenue-critical infrastructure.
- • Day to day, you’ll own revenue-critical event infrastructure, design scalable data systems using event streaming pipelines, shape backend architecture in Kotlin/Spring Boot, and build systems that scale to 10x load while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- • Join a lean team of 20+ engineers in NYC and London with real ownership, direct customer access, and the opportunity to shape fundamental architecture as the company scales fast.
- • You’ll learn to architect high-throughput, low-latency systems, make technical decisions balancing cost and performance at scale, and grow into a technical leader influencing infrastructure patterns in a mission-critical fintech environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Shipped production backend systems with focus on reliability over just 'it works'
- • Experience building systems that scale, understanding tradeoffs in throughput, latency, and cost
- • Strong experience in event-driven architectures including pub/sub systems and event streaming platforms
- • Experience with analytical databases or OLAP systems, columnar storage, indexing, and query optimization
- • Provisioned cloud resources, written infrastructure-as-code, and made architectural decisions balancing competing constraints
- • Comfortable with ambiguity, early ideation, sharing work-in-progress, and adapting based on feedback
- • Clear communication skills and desire to understand customer motivations behind technical work
