📋 Description

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in PHP to join a dynamic, remote-first team. This pivotal role is central to the design, architecture, development, implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated web-based applications for our esteemed client.
• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of projects, ensuring that solutions are not only functional but also robust, scalable, and maintainable for the long term. Your expertise will be crucial in translating complex business requirements into elegant and efficient technical solutions.
• You will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept and architectural design through to deployment and post-launch support. This includes meticulously planning and executing development sprints, conducting thorough code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices in software engineering.
• A significant aspect of this role involves architectural decision-making. You will be expected to apply advanced design principles, such as SOLID and Domain-Driven Design (DDD), to create codebases that are easy to understand, modify, and extend, thereby reducing technical debt and improving overall system quality.
• You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team, including Business Analysts, fellow engineers, and potentially end-users, to gather requirements, clarify specifications, and ensure that the developed solutions precisely meet business needs and user expectations.
• This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be a key technical escalation point, responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex software defects, providing guidance to junior engineers, and ensuring the stability and performance of production systems.
• The role also encompasses the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation. This is vital for knowledge sharing, onboarding new team members, and ensuring that the system's architecture and functionality are well-understood across the organization.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, methodologies, and tools. This includes actively participating in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), providing constructive feedback, and championing best practices in areas like automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• As a subject matter expert, you will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the client's technical architecture and business domain. This knowledge will enable you to provide strategic guidance, identify opportunities for innovation, and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap.
• You will be expected to write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, adhering to established coding standards and style guides. Performance optimization and security considerations will be integral to your development process.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in PHP web application development, with deep, practical expertise in the Symfony framework.
• Proven experience applying SOLID principles and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in commercial software development.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Strong proficiency in relational database modeling and hands-on experience with MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
