- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team at Vantage Cloud Inc., you will play a critical role in building and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers a leading FinOps platform trusted by innovative companies like Block, FanDuel, Vercel, Temporal, and CircleCI. Your work will directly impact how engineering teams worldwide monitor, analyze, and optimize their cloud spending, making cost transparency and operational efficiency accessible at scale.
- • You will design and build core data infrastructure including ingestion pipelines, query engines, and backend services using technologies such as ClickHouse, Temporal, Kubernetes, and Postgres, ensuring high reliability and performance as data volume and customer load grow.
- • You will own key architecture decisions for platform systems, driving improvements in reliability, scalability, and observability while collaborating closely with product and application teams to define clean APIs, platform contracts, and developer tooling that enable other engineers to build confidently on top of your work.
- • You will contribute to a high-velocity engineering culture that ships 10-20 production releases daily, leveraging modern tools like Linear, Claude, Codex, and Cursor, and participating in lightweight processes such as ADRs and Slack huddles to maintain alignment without sacrificing agility or quality.
- • You will be expected to identify inefficiencies, propose improvements, and take ownership of end-to-end infrastructure projects—from schema design and query optimization to deployment and monitoring—fostering a culture of continuous iteration and technical excellence.
- • You will join a small, high-performing, remote-first team of ~50 employees headquartered in New York City, backed by $25M from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Scale Venture Partners, and advised by industry leaders such as Matthew Prince (Cloudflare), Nat Friedman (GitHub), and the founders of DigitalOcean and Segment.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in distributed systems, data engineering, and platform reliability while making tangible impact on a product that helps enterprises manage cloud costs with precision and confidence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience with a proven track record of building scalable systems
- • Strong foundation in distributed systems, data pipelines, or workflow orchestration; experience with Temporal, ClickHouse, or similar tools is a plus
- • Comfortable contributing to infrastructure projects end-to-end, including schema design, query optimization, deployment, and observability on Kubernetes
- • Preference for simple, durable designs and the judgment to avoid unnecessary complexity
- • Experience defining platform boundaries and enabling other engineering teams to build on reliable foundations
- • Demonstrated ownership, impact-driven project leadership, and a collaborative, kind mindset
