📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer on HackerOne’s AI Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to revolutionize offensive security by integrating human ingenuity with artificial intelligence. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of Hai, HackerOne’s in-platform AI security agent, enabling organizations to continuously discover, validate, prioritize, and remediate security exposures across code, cloud, and AI systems. This role is critical to HackerOne’s position as a global leader in Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), trusted by industry leaders including Anthropic, Goldman Sachs, Uber, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
• You will design and implement core components of the cloud-based execution platform for Hai, focusing on agent execution frameworks, memory services, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) services, and observability systems that enable natural language-driven security insights and secure action workflows. Your contributions will enhance how thousands of customers detect and respond to emerging threats through AI-powered features that improve vulnerability discovery and security analysis workflows.
• You will operate with an AI-first mindset, leveraging advanced tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT Enterprise to boost productivity across coding, design documentation, on-call response, and customer escalation handling. This includes developing and integrating secure APIs that facilitate interactions between AI models, internal services, and third-party systems, adapting quickly to evolving requirements with change agility.
• You will collaborate closely with Product, Security Research, and Customer Success teams to translate customer needs into clear engineering requirements and deliverables, ensuring that technical solutions align with real-world security challenges and business objectives.
• You will use metrics, evaluation data, and telemetry to validate model behavior and improve system performance, embodying HackerOne’s commitment to data-driven decision making. This involves breaking down complex distributed systems and security problems into fundamental components using first principles problem solving to deliver simple, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• You will contribute to a culture of inclusion, transparency, and empowerment, reflecting HackerOne’s values of being customer-obsessed, defaulting to disclosure, and winning together. 🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience working with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience implementing distributed system features within production-grade AI or ML systems, including integrating LLMs or generative AI models into applications
• Familiarity with model deployment workflows, evaluation techniques, or MLOps concepts
• Understanding of responsible AI development and basic AI safety considerations
• Ability and willingness to work onsite one day per week (typically Thursdays) in Seattle, Austin, Boston, or Washington, DC
