- • Own the infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling that enables the engineering team to ship fast and safely at scale.
- • Set the technical direction for reliability, security, and compliance, building these into the platform from the ground up rather than as afterthoughts.
- • Shape the design and scalability of Rillet’s external API to make it a competitive asset for customers and partners.
- • Partner with engineering leadership and the CTO to define roadmap priorities and translate ambiguous problems into clear, actionable technical plans.
- • Mentor engineers through design reviews and hands-on collaboration, raising the technical bar across the organization.
- • Work closely with product teams to ensure platform systems align with customer needs and product goals.
- • Drive adoption of AI-native practices within engineering workflows, using AI not just for productivity but to solve problems in novel ways.
- • Build and maintain the foundational systems that every engineer at Rillet depends on, including deployment pipelines, monitoring, and developer environments.
- • Ensure platform systems support multi-entity consolidation, automated workflows, and hundreds of native integrations (Stripe, Ramp, Salesforce, etc).
- • Contribute to the evolution of Rillet’s unified source-of-truth data model by ensuring platform scalability and data integrity.
- • Maintain and enhance observability tooling to provide real-time insights into system performance and reliability.
- • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to implement enterprise readiness standards such as SOC 2, SSO/SAML, and audit logging.
- • Work in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible day, at Rillet’s New York City or San Francisco office hubs.
- • Engage in team offsites and in-person collaboration opportunities in locations including New York, San Francisco, Barcelona, Toronto, Italy, and France.
- • Contribute to a high-growth AI-native ERP environment where financial stack scalability matches the velocity of fast-moving customers like Mercor and Function Health.
- • Deliver systems that support zero-day financial closes and power the financial core of the world’s fastest-growing companies.
- • Translate customer-centric mission into technical execution, prioritizing work that delivers maximum impact even when outside original scope.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading large-scale projects and architecting scalable systems
- • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or developer productivity
- • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, observability tooling, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- • Comfortable driving technical decisions across teams and making hard tradeoffs under pressure
- • Actively incorporates AI tools into your day-to-day workflow, not just as a productivity shortcut but as a way to tackle problems differently
- • Willing to work in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible day, at Rillet’s NYC or San Francisco office
