📋 Description

• Serve as a Senior Software Engineer on a fully remote team building the world’s largest AI companionship platform with 50 million users and growing toward 100 million.
• Collaborate directly with the CTO and Product Manager to review project specifications, define integration plans, and create technical break-downs and estimations.
• Lead hands-on development using Ruby on Rails (latest version), implementing features, writing clean code, submitting PRs, conducting code reviews, and ensuring robust testing practices.
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis to design, optimize, and maintain scalable data storage and caching systems for high-traffic AI applications.
• Utilize Hotwire (Turbo & Stimulus) and Tailwind CSS to deliver responsive, dynamic, and performant front-end experiences integrated with backend services.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by proposing and experimenting with new solutions that enhance product scalability, user experience, and system reliability.
• Operate in a fast-paced, agile environment where velocity and software craftsmanship must be balanced to meet aggressive product goals.
• Maintain a user-centric mindset, taking ownership of features from concept to deployment and ensuring they align with the platform’s obsession for exceptional user experience.
• Work alongside a globally distributed team of web developers, SREs, and data scientists in a culture that values radical creativity, ownership, and accountability.
• Engage with an internal AI moderation system, EverGuard, to ensure all product development adheres to ethical, safe, and human-first principles.
• Participate in an annual in-person team gathering to foster collaboration, brainstorming, and team bonding.
• Contribute to a product environment that involves uncensored AI models and content, requiring comfort with NSFW applications and responsible AI development.
• Maintain fluent English communication skills to effectively collaborate across time zones and with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Act as an owner, not a renter — proactively identify problems, propose solutions, and drive initiatives without waiting for direction.
• Leverage premium AI tools including ChatGPT, Cursor, Hugging Face, and Claude Code to accelerate development and enhance workflow efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack software engineer
• Proven experience in tech scale-ups or similarly agile, fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining large-scale products used by thousands of monthly users
• Strong communication and collaborative skills in English
• Ownership mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality software in a high-velocity environment
• Comfort working with uncensored AI models and NSFW content
