- • Senior Software Engineer role on the Sales Customer Care team at Back Market, focused on building and maintaining tools that empower customer support agents and improve post-sales experiences for users of the global refurbished tech marketplace.
- • Contribute to a mission-driven company that reduces electronic waste and carbon emissions by extending the life of devices, with every purchase saving 92% more carbon than buying new.
- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and frontend systems using Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Celery), Golang, VueJS, TypeScript, Nuxt, and Revolve design system, supporting a transition from monolith to service-oriented architecture.
- • Collaborate with product, operations, and other engineering squads to identify and implement improvements in customer and agent experience through reliable, observable, and maintainable services.
- • Participate in agile 'build it and run it' practices, owning the full lifecycle of features including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- • Engage in regular technical rituals with squad, chapter, and staff engineers to align on architecture, share best practices, and drive technical excellence across teams.
- • Advocate for and implement improvements in system design, observability, and performance, particularly in high-impact areas like chaos mitigation and service reliability.
- • Mentor peers, foster knowledge sharing, and contribute to a culture of learning, inclusivity, and technical ownership within an international team spanning the US, France, Spain, and Japan.
- • Work in a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in the Paris office (Monday mandatory), with flexibility for remote work and quarterly remote weeks.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in backend development using Python (FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks) and/or Golang.
- • Hands-on experience with frontend technologies including VueJS, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably in a Nuxt or SPA context.
- • Proven ability to design, build, and maintain distributed systems using PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ, with familiarity in event-driven architectures.
- • Experience working with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, ArgoCD, or similar).
- • Demonstrated ownership mindset, strong communication skills, and fluency in English for collaboration across global teams.
- • Experience in agile environments with a track record of improving system reliability, observability, or performance through initiatives like chaos engineering or SLA-driven development.
