• • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dedicated Platform SRE Core Infrastructure team.
• • This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive design, provisioning, and ongoing operation of the shared infrastructure that forms the bedrock of the entire PhysicsX platform.
• • You will engage deeply with infrastructure as code principles, Kubernetes cluster management, robust secrets management strategies, GPU driver configurations, intricate networking solutions, and multi-tenancy architectures to ensure the platform's unwavering dependability, scalability, and security.
• • This position is ideal for an engineer who possesses profound infrastructure expertise, coupled with a strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset, and a keen understanding of the developer experience for teams utilizing the platform.
• • Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end design and delivery of core infrastructure components across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-premises environments, utilizing industry-standard tools like Terraform and Crossplane.
• • You will architect, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters designed to support both single-tenant and multi-tenant workloads, with a paramount focus on achieving robust isolation, optimal performance, and high reliability.
• • A significant part of the role involves defining and implementing sophisticated infrastructure provisioning patterns through Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules, ensuring a high degree of reproducibility and auditability across all operational environments.
• • You will be instrumental in designing and operating advanced secrets management solutions, encompassing dynamic secret provisioning, automated rotation, and fine-grained access control, seamlessly integrated with cluster identity management.
• • This role requires managing and maintaining critical GPU driver configurations and accelerated compute node pools, guaranteeing compatibility and peak performance for demanding AI and simulation workloads.
• • You will take ownership of cluster networking design, including strategic CNI selection, Istio service mesh integration, defining ingress strategies, and ensuring seamless cross-cluster connectivity.
• • Implementation and maintenance of vCluster-based multi-tenancy solutions will be crucial for providing strong workload isolation within shared infrastructure environments.
• • Development of lightweight Kubernetes Operators or controllers will be necessary to automate complex infrastructure lifecycle tasks as they arise.
• • You will be responsible for establishing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and reliability targets for core infrastructure components and will lead the charge in responding to and resolving production incidents.
• • Close collaboration with security and platform teams is essential to enforce infrastructure governance policies, network security controls, and compliance standards.
