- • As a Senior Solutions Architect on the Delivery Architecture team, you are the senior technical lead for customer engagements within Astronomer’s Services Delivery team.
- • You work in small teams with project managers and engineers, helping customers operationalize Airflow and Astro at scale.
- • You interact directly with engineers, architects, and executives to design their data orchestration platform on Astro. This role combines solution architecture with hands-on technical work, including building prototypes to validate designs.
- • Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and technical design sessions with engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
- • Design end-to-end platform architectures integrating Airflow with cloud infrastructure, compute frameworks, and data platforms.
- • Review delivery work to ensure high standards for scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
- • Diagnose and resolve issues, guide customers through deployments, migrations, and platform modernization.
- • Build reusable tools, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices that improve delivery quality across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture
- • Airflow expertise authoring and deploying Dags to production, monitoring execution, and troubleshooting failures.
- • Experience tuning Airflow performance, refactoring Dag code, right-sizing infrastructure, and implementing data quality checks and alerts.
- • Proven track record of guiding customers through platform deployments, migrations, or technical transformations, managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder conflicts.
- • Strong background in designing cloud native data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with familiarity in enterprise networking, security, and identity patterns.
- • Programming experience in Python and SQL.
- • Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- • Track record leading architecture discussions and driving technical decisions with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders.
- • Strong communication and documentation skills; can translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready architectures.

- • Estimated salary for this role ranges from $190,000 - $250,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package.
