• • As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Okta, you will be an integral part of the Corporate New Business sales team, serving as the primary technical and domain expert. Your role will be crucial in guiding prospective customers through their digital transformation journey by clearly articulating the value and capabilities of Okta's cutting-edge identity solutions, particularly the Auth0 platform.
• • You will engage with a diverse range of clients, from burgeoning startups to established enterprises with 300-1249 employees, understanding their unique business challenges and technical landscapes. This involves deep dives into issues faced by development and product teams, and then expertly tailoring product demonstrations to showcase how Okta's solutions directly address these needs.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve responding to intricate product feature and technical inquiries from customers, partners, and internal Okta colleagues. This requires a profound understanding of Okta's offerings and the broader identity and access management ecosystem.
• • For customers with more complex requirements, you will be responsible for planning and delivering Proofs of Concept (POCs). This hands-on work may involve scripting and coding to effectively demonstrate the advanced capabilities of the Auth0 platform, often requiring collaboration with other Okta engineering teams to ensure comprehensive solutions.
• • You will act as a vital feedback loop to the product management team, sharing insights derived from customer interactions and POCs. This feedback will highlight potential product enhancements and new features that can further address customer needs and deliver additional value, directly influencing the future development of Okta's products.
• • Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key. You will actively participate in sharing best practices, reusable assets, and technical learnings with fellow Solutions Engineers, contributing to the overall quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the entire Solutions Engineering team.
• • Staying ahead of the curve is essential. You will maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends, and Okta's differentiation, enabling you to effectively position our solutions against alternatives.
• • You will support various marketing initiatives, including executive briefings, industry conferences, user group meetings, and trade shows, representing Okta as a technical authority and thought leader.
• • In certain instances, you may be called upon to develop deep subject matter expertise (SME) in specific product solutions or competitive areas, and potentially lead training or knowledge-sharing sessions for your team.
• • Your technical background, ideally with experience in software development and a familiarity with developer-centric identity platforms like Auth0, will be instrumental in connecting with technical audiences. You'll translate their complex requirements into robust, scalable, and secure identity solutions.
• • You will leverage your ability to quickly communicate complex technical ideas, potentially using whiteboarding, to effectively convey solutions and value propositions.
• • This role demands strong territory management skills, including proactive pipeline building and close collaboration with sales counterparts to ensure execution excellence and drive revenue growth within your assigned territory.
• • You will be expected to travel approximately 25% of the time to support customer engagements and company events.
• • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred, providing a strong theoretical foundation for the technical demands of the role.
