• • As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Okta, you will be a pivotal member of the Solutions Engineering team, acting as a functional business consultant with a deep passion for technology. Your primary role will be to develop, position, and demonstrate product-specific solutions throughout the sales cycle, directly contributing to the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals for your assigned territory.
• • You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to devise and implement effective territory and account strategies, aiming to maximize the Okta opportunity within these accounts. This involves understanding the unique business challenges and technology landscapes of potential clients.
• • A significant part of your role will involve conducting thorough research and discovery to deeply understand customer requirements. You will then articulate the tangible business value of addressing these technology challenges using Okta's cloud security solutions, translating technical capabilities into strategic business advantages.
• • You will be responsible for executing Proofs of Concept (POCs) for customers facing complex use cases. This will require close collaboration with other Okta engineering teams to ensure successful and comprehensive demonstrations of Okta's platform capabilities.
• • Crafting compelling technical content will be essential. This includes developing materials that guide customers on how to implement specific use cases or adopt standard methodologies for new technologies, empowering them to leverage Okta effectively.
• • Preparing and delivering impactful product demonstrations is a core responsibility. You will showcase how the Okta platform precisely meets customer business needs and addresses their specific use cases, tailoring presentations to resonate with diverse audiences.
• • You will serve as a crucial conduit for customer feedback, distilling and communicating customer needs, pain points, and product suggestions to the Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams. This feedback loop is vital for continuous product improvement and market alignment.
• • Your role extends to educating customers, ranging from developers and product managers to C-level executives, on best practices within their cloud security technology journey. You will leverage presentations, email, phone, and social media to connect with customers both virtually and in-person.
• • Empathizing with customers and quickly discerning their true technical needs through detailed, clarifying questions is paramount. You will then present solutions that directly address these identified needs, demonstrating a consultative and problem-solving approach.
• • You will possess a rare combination of technical acumen and business insight, utilizing and further developing both skill sets by advising a diverse set of customers on the value they will gain from implementing Okta's Identity Platform.
• • This strategic role requires you to identify, map, and manage multiple customer personas, including IT administrators, CISOs, architects, procurement, and legal departments, understanding their distinct priorities and concerns.
• • You will be confident in dispensing knowledge to highly skilled and experienced audiences, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
• • The role involves approximately 10-25% travel, requiring you to be on-site for customer engagements and internal meetings as needed.
• • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred, providing a strong foundational understanding for the technical aspects of the role.
• • You will be required to undergo in-person onboarding at our San Francisco, CA HQ or Chicago office during your first week of employment, ensuring a smooth integration into the Okta team and culture.
