- • As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Okta, you will be a pivotal member of the Global Presales organization, serving as a trusted advisor to a diverse range of customers and partners. Your primary mission will be to help organizations unlock the full potential of Okta’s Identity Platform, focusing on customer identity and access management (CIAM) solutions. This is a customer-facing sales role that requires a deep understanding of technical challenges and the ability to translate them into business outcomes.
- • You will be instrumental in supporting strategic customer conversations, engaging with technical and engineering leaders to align Okta’s offerings with their evolving needs. This involves staying abreast of emerging trends, industry best practices, and the landscape of identity-driven digital transformation, and then articulating these insights to clients.
- • A key responsibility will be to assist in preparing executive-level messaging and participating in strategic discussions, ensuring that Okta’s solutions are clearly positioned to address customer business objectives. You will develop customer-centric viewpoints that effectively translate complex Okta solutions into tangible benefits for the client.
- • You will lead in-depth technical Q&A discovery sessions with prospective customers. Through insightful questioning, you will uncover their specific business requirements and articulate the compelling value proposition of Okta’s CIAM solutions in addressing these needs.
- • Delivering engaging and interactive presentations and custom product demonstrations will be a core part of your role. You will tailor your communication style and technical depth to resonate with all levels of technical expertise and customer identity knowledge.
- • You will be expected to whiteboard solution architectures, visually modeling how Okta’s CIAM solutions can be integrated to support and enhance customer business requirements. This includes designing, building, and executing well-defined, outcome-focused Proofs of Concept (POCs) to showcase the efficacy of our platform.
- • Maintaining a broad and deep technical understanding of Okta’s customer identity product lines, as well as the underlying technologies and protocols (such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML), is crucial for success.
- • You will craft compelling solution content that effectively positions Okta’s value proposition across various business units, including software engineering, operations, product management, and key business stakeholders.
- • Beyond individual customer engagements, you will provide strategic and technical guidance to other Solutions Engineering teams, fostering best practices across both the Okta and Auth0 identity platforms.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Global Office of the Field CTO to channel actionable insights from the field back to Okta. This feedback loop is vital for validating customer needs and identifying recurring trends that can inform Okta’s Product and Engineering teams.
- • You will have opportunities to represent Okta as a thought leader by delivering impactful keynote presentations, webinars, and technical sessions at industry events and customer conferences.
- • Contributing to the development of frameworks, tools, and content that empower Solutions Engineering teams to operate more effectively is also a key aspect of this senior role.
- • You will partner with sales leadership to identify and address critical business opportunities and challenges, driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure the seamless execution of global initiatives.
- • Innovation in tools and techniques to drive excellence and momentum within the presales function will be encouraged.
- • You will also partner with Enablement and Field CTO teams to drive regional events and align product messaging for regional Go-To-Market (GTM) and Solutions Engineering teams.
- • On a broader level, you will represent Okta as a recognized thought leader in the identity and security space, potentially influencing industry standards and participating in relevant technical advisory boards.
- • You will work closely with OFCTO teams as an advocate for customer-driven innovation, market trends, and GTM insights, providing crucial input to influence product development.
- • Finally, you will support, derive, and champion strategic initiatives that enhance Okta’s differentiation and overall business impact in the market.
- • This role requires a commitment to travel of at least 25% for customer meetings, industry events, and internal off-sites, and you must be a US citizen located in the USA.
